The Laptop accessories are equally important as the laptop computers themselves. Simply buying a laptop will not suffice the very purpose of mobile computing because these laptop accessories know very well how to safeguard the expensive and the delicate devices like laptops. They basically enhance the laptop’s life by providing security against dirt, dust, mishandling, or falls etc. They either come with the laptops in the same package or need to be bought separately. The laptop accessories that are widely used are laptop bags, batteries, skins, chargers, etc.

Some of the major laptop accessories are:

Laptop Bags/Backpacks – They act as practical laptop carriers and are very functional while traveling. They provide good storage room than a traditional laptop carrier. Available in a variety of colors and designs, their basic feature is water resistance ability apart from security against dust, rain and sun. There are designer laptop bags and briefcases ranging from $25 bags to a $100 leather case, but quality should be the top priority. Always check whether your laptop fits into it and if it has got more pockets for other notebook peripherals.

Extra Batteries – For users who are away from electric supply for a longer period of time and with normal battery life that lasts for less than 5 hours, the extra battery is needed.

AC Power Adaptors – They can be a good reason for major system breakdowns. So having an extra source of AC power especially while traveling long distances is really helpful.

Software – Always check for the compatibility of the installed software with your business needs. If not, go for a new software installation for emergency situations if re-installation is required.

Security Cables – Just secure your laptop with a security cable by attaching it with a slot which is available in all laptops almost, called Universal Security Slot.

USB Drive – Carrying an extra USB drive would provide you with more options for file access and recovery.

Additional Hard Drive – Though laptops come with 40 to 100 gig hard drives normally, you can still carry one for extra storage.

External DVD Burner – For additional work with DVDs like DVD Burning, a DVD Burner is an added advantage.

Disposable cleansing cloths – Especially designed for laptop cleaning to avoid dusty, smudgy, or oily particles from sticking on to your laptop.
